Editing of most larger content areas in the system e.g. content of textpages, product descriptions, user descriptions, and so on is performed through a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. This is very similar to popular editors such as Microsoft Word.

The upper area of the editor hosts a variety of icons representing different functionalities:

  • Horizontal line: Inserts a horizontal line

  • Cut / Copy / Insert: Usefull tools for moving text around the document
  • Pase as plain text: Pastes the text of the clipboard without formatting
  • Paste from Word: Translates text copied from Microsoft Word to a more fitting webformat
  • Show Blocks: Displays borders around block elements such as paragraphs
  • Bold / Italic / Underline / Strike Through: Formats the selected text
  • Left / Center / Right / Block Justify: Formats the selected text
  • Increase / Decrease indent: Controls the indentation of the active text section

  • Background color: Sets the backgroundcolor of the selected text
  • Superscript / Subscript: Sets the textmode to sub- or superscript
  • Special characters: Opens a dialog with a selection of special characters that can be inserted
  • Find: Opens a dialog which makes it possible to search the text
  • Replace: Opens a dialog which makes it possible to search for and replace words in the text
  • Table: Opens a dialog which makes it possible to create tables
  • Format: Formats the selected text to for example 'heading 1'
  • Font: Sets the active font or the font of the selected text
  • Size: Sets the active font size or the size of the selected text

The center area of the editor is used to write and manipulate the content of the active element. Most elements such as images and tables can be edited by rightclicking them. This wil open a menu with various options for the element.

In the bottom left corner of the editor, you will find a list of HTML elements showing the current nesting of the selected element. This can be used for navigating in and out of the current structure.

If the active textarea exist in several languages, a list of tabs with each language can be found just above the editor. These can be used to change the language you want to edit.
Note that switching language does not automatically save current changes on the present language. You can switch to other languages and come back, but just remember to save the content before you leave.
