4.2.3. Supplementary products

”Supplementary products” are products that the customer should have the option to buy when he chooses a certain product. It can be that the customer should have the option to buy a supplementary product that exactly fits to the article as the customer has ordered. If the customer has ordered a car in your web shop, motor oil could be a relevant supplementary product.

 

Example – Attach Supplementary products In the following an example will be used to explain how you can attach supplementary products to a product. As an example we attach a “Sweatshirt” to our product “Levi’s T-shirt”. This means that the customer gets the option to buy a Sweatshirt when he buys a Levi’s T-shirt.

 

 

1. Attach ”Supplementary product”  To attach a supplementary product to a product you choose the product in the product catalogue that you want a supplementary product attached to. As we want to attach a “Sweatshirt” to our product “Levi’s T-shirt” we choose “Levi’s T-shirt” in the product catalogue. 2. Product  In this field you have to choose the product that should appear as supplementary option. Here we choose “Sweatshirt” – a product that we created earlier. If you remember the item code better you can type that in the next field instead. 3. Item code  In this field you can type in the item code for the product that should appear as supplementary option. You do not have to type in anything in this field if you already have chosen a product in the field above. 4. Category  In this option you can determine a category for the supplementary product. The categories can be created under “Product supplement” in the menu. 5. Finish  You have now finished – click on “Add product”.
