If you wish to use the B2B functions in the web shop you can read this paragraph, which goes through these functions. It is of course possible to use only the parts of the B2B functions that suits your business.
Firstly the B2B module needs to be activated and here it is possible to define lots of preferences. Under control panel > Shop preferences you can find the item "Business to Business (B2B)". Here it is possible to define if you need to be logged in to see prices and place orders in the web shop. At the same time it is possible to hide shipping at checkout. Under "Users" you can choose if you wish normal customer creation (Create user), where the customer gets a username and password sent to them immediately. All customer created through "Create user" will be created in the customer group B2C. It is also possible to activate "Request login (B2B)", where the customer's account first needs to be activated through the administration before it can be used. All customers created through "Request login" are created in the customer group B2B. Under prices you select if the prices are entered with or without VAT included, as well as if the prices should be shown including VAT on the web shop.
Under the customer groups it is possible to activate and block the individual customer's account. This means in practice that one cannot log in with the account if it is blocked. Furthermore you can in "the key" send login information to for instance customers created through "Request login (B2B)".
In addition it is possible in the system to define user rights for product categories, payment methods and shipping methods. The standard for the different types is "Visible to all". This means that all customers on the web shop can access them. If you choose that for instance only the user group "Customers B2B" should be able to access a payment method it will be hidden until one logs in as a customer in the user group "Customers B2B". If you hide a product category the products that have this category as its primary category will also be hidden if one is not logged in.
Creation of customer specific discounts on selected products can be administered uder "Discount groups", which is explained under "Discount groups".
